CAST has produced a double DVD of the 2009 event featuring a movie of the performance in Helensburgh and a slideshow with full sound track. If you would like a copy, please contact fiona.blakey@ea.argyll-bute.sch.uk. There is a £2 charge per dvd to cover production costs and P&P.

The two concerts have gained public recognition for all involved with the highest praise being kept for the pupils. These young people excelled themselves on both nights and reviewers and general public alike have been amazed at the level of professionalism that the performers achieved.

The Rhapsody 09 pipers held their second full day of rehearsals on 30th September in Lochgilphead. All five piping tutors attended the day along with sixteen young musicians. See the photo gallery for images.

Fashion picks up pace!

I visited a few art departments recently and had a sneak preview of some of the work in progress for the fashion costumes. The pupils are hard at work developing a whole range of interesting and unique pieces including delicate small scale brooches, belts, headgear and even a wedding dress! Colin McPherson visited Tiree last week to complete his tour of all 10 secondary schools. He delivered a day long workshop to several budding island photographers who’s work will be included in the final showcase performances.
