Our culture in Argyll: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

At a major cultural event in October 2009 young people from across Argyll and Bute showcased their amazing creative talents. Following the highly successful Argyll Rhapsody 2007 the Creative Arts in Schools Team (CAST) developed this extravagant collaboration of homecoming creativity.
Homecoming Rhapsody 2009 allowed our students to work alongside the best of Scotlands professionals on the music, photography and fashion scenes.

“I just wanted to say I thought the concert in Helensburgh was absolutely fantastic. The best concert I have been to in many years. The work that must have gone in to support the young people to achieve that quality is astounding. Thank you so much for the opportunity for our daughter.
Parent, Argyll and Bute.

Each performance consisted of a musical concert of composer Donald Shaw’s Rhapsody enhanced by a digital photographic display, followed by a wild Scottish fashion show accompanied by wild Scottish live music.

The concerts were held on:

“These pupils are fantastic ambassadors not just for their schools but for Argyll and Bute as a whole, and I am delighted that they are being given the chance to showcase their talents in this unique way.”
